Gratitude means krtagyata or Aabhar in Hindi, it is an effortless and powerful way of expressing your respect to other people in return for their help and kindness.

Since my childhood, I see my father showing his gratitude daily towards mother earth; when he wakes up, and before putting his feet on the ground, he touches the ground and joins his hands to say thank you. He thanks to mother earth for giving him one more day on earth and carrying his weight without complaining. This is called gratitude that comes out naturally.

What is the power of Gratitude?

In our Indian tradition, when guests come home, we thank them for coming because we learned that God comes as a guest; we call “Atithi devobhawa.”

Joining a hand as a Nameste posture and bowing down head to say “Thank you” is a way to bow down our ego and pour all love and respect to other person. It is a compelling gift that our ancestors just handover us.

My point is that why our elders and our ancestors taught this? What do they want us to know? They want us to know the secret behind gratitude.

Secret behind the Gratitude

The secret is what you give to other’s you will get it in multifold. You provide your love and support; you will get it back once you are in need; Is that the only reason for showing gratitude?

No, this is not the only reason; the reason behind it is very profound. It is sitting deep down in our soul. It purifies all our hatred, emotions and actions, what we have done intentionally or unintentionally. So when we say “thank you,” we feel obliged by others’ positive actions, and this way, our soul sheds the burden of ego and all the negative emotions toward another person. When we say thank you so in return we get “You are welcome,” which means you are also allowed to feel the same love and respect in return.
So if you are saying “Thank You,” feel it first and then say it to another person.

We are humans with a gift of consciousness that makes us different from another living beings.
Show your gratitude with love and respect and help each other, and shed all the burden from our soul.

Yoga and Gratitude

Gratitude is an effortless process; it comes out naturally when someone gets overwhelmed by others’ help. When a person does daily yoga practice in everyday life, the person will become more open and more attuned to the process of receiving.

According to Sadhguru, “The very process of life is a constant phenomenon of receiving.”

In this life, what all you have is not truly your’s, It is all a blessings from the almighty power; if you think you are the only person responsible for every achievement in life, then think again, believe me for each and every work there are several hands of help.
The food you eat, clothes you wear, the money you earn, and the home you live are all combined efforts.

Be thankful for your parents, be thankful for your countries farmers and industries workers who do effortless work to provide you food and shelter. Be kindful to those police officers and Army soldiers who protect you day and night. Be grateful for every aspect of your life.
